IELTS
is the short form for International English Language Testing
System.IELTS is recognised as an entrance requirement by British,
Australian, New Zealand and Canadian universities and for
secondary, vocational and training programmes.American academic
institutions are also increasingly accepting IELTS for admissions
purposes.As you probably know, there are two modules of the
IELTS Test- ACADEMIC MODULE (to study at an English-speaking
university) and GENERAL MODULE (to immigrate to an English-speaking
country).
IELTS
is accepted by many professional organisations including the
New Zealand Immigration Service, the Australian Department
of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, the Australian Medical
Council, the UK General Medical Council and the UK Ministry
of Defence.IELTS is jointly managed by The University of Cambridge
Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), The British Council
and IDP Education Australia: IELTS Australia.

The
test has 4 parts speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
Each part has a max score of 9. IELTS is not a test of your
medical English, just English. To be eligible to appear in
PLAB part 1 one must achieve at least 7.0 as an overall score
and a minimum of 7 in speaking and minimum of 6.0 in listening,
reading and writing section.After passing your IELTS you should
give your PLAB (part I) exam within 2 years.
Important:
The IELTS Test can be very challenging and if you fail it,
you will have to wait at least 3 months before you can try
